Psystar, the infamous Macintosh cloner, has began offering free restore discs with its hacked Leopard Mac clones. Restore discs are emergency CDs or DVDs that are used to recover from an operating system problem, particularly hard crashes and if the computer fails to boot properly. Macs historically included recovery discs with every computer sold.
It is not recommended to do a software update on a hackintosh. Because a software update changes parts of the operating system, an update may accidentally overwrite parts of the hack, making the computer inoperable. While fixing requires re-installing the whole OS from scratch after applying another hack. A restore disc will greatly simplify this drawback.

Psystar is also in preparation to go to court, being sued by Apple for license infringement for the OpenPC and has hired a top lawyer that has beaten Apple in a previous case.
