Instructions on upgrading from iPhone 2.0.x to 2.1
Needed items:
- iTunes 8
- iPhone OS 2.1 update downloaded via iTunes.
- iPhone 1stGen with pwned 2.0.x
Some say that iTunes need to be downgraded to v7.7.1 or earlier, but I was able to update just fine with iTunes 8. Simply "Update" the firmware just like syncing normally. Once its' done, your iPhone will stay unlocked, with all legitimate apps intact.
You may have to re-apply all previous hacks to restore previous capabilities you've lost.
