iPhone 3G software unlock is coming very soon

Author: macuser - Categories: Uncategorized - Tags:

The blog of the  iPhone Dev Team posted a video of running custom applications from within the iPhone 3G’s terminal (command line). This means that they are nearly done with the unlocking process.

Currently, there are no available software unlock for the iPhone 3G and the iPod Touch 2G. A 3G unlock can be done with some SIM adapters but are not immune to upgrade problems when OS firmwares become available.

Stay tuned for updates.

Facebook, Google and the Android App

Author: macuser - Categories: Uncategorized - Tags: ,

Facebook came up with its platform. Google retaliated with OpenSocial. Since then, the two giants have been intense competitors for users’ hearts and minds.

Now that Google’s Android is out, will Facebook develop an app as it did for the iPhone? Probably not if Facebook have its way. But if Android becomes a formidable competitor to the iPhone, Facebook will have no choice but to create one.

Android early adopters rejoice. Facebook will eventually come out for the App Market… But not anytime soon. In the meantime, I’ll stick the iPhone App Store.

Original Replacement iPhone Headsets

Author: macuser - Categories: Uncategorized - Tags: , ,

I’ve been using my iPhone so much listening to podcasts and the occasional songs. My Apple-supplied headsets got so worn out that the rubber lining around the earbuds came off. The rubber earbud stems also broke.

Finding a replacement proved to be difficult. I purchased a cheap pair from the local CD media shop but the sound was bad. I went to the local Apple stores and the cheapest replacements were priced at around US$25. I tried out the Pioneer and other mid-end headphones but none would fit my 1st gen iPhone, requiring an expensive and inconvenient adapter. They also did not have the mic and clicker that’s so indispensable that came with the original.

Fortunately, I have found the OEM supplier, promptly ordered, and received my initial stock of iPhone Headsets for sale.

These headsets are replacements for the original headsets included with the iPhone 2G and 3G. They sound as good, if not better, than the originals, and have full clicker functionality… That means the clicker acts as a microphone, pause, forward, and backward (with iPhone OS 2.1).

The headsets will also work with the iPod Touch 2G, and will work with all iPods without the microphone functionality. Macintosh compatibility has also been established, which means that the headsets will work with Macs for use with iTunes, Skype, and other applications.

Order your own headsets now–as replacement or backup for your iPhone, iPod or Mac. The price is just US$14 for a set. Succeeding headsets are just $10 each. Shipping within the Philippines is $1 for postal mail. Shipping to the USA is $3 for registered mail. PayPal payments are accepted. (continue reading &aquo;) (continue reading &aquo;)
