Original Replacement iPhone Headsets

Author: macuser - Categories: Uncategorized - Tags: , ,

I’ve been using my iPhone so much listening to podcasts and the occasional songs. My Apple-supplied headsets got so worn out that the rubber lining around the earbuds came off. The rubber earbud stems also broke.

Finding a replacement proved to be difficult. I purchased a cheap pair from the local CD media shop but the sound was bad. I went to the local Apple stores and the cheapest replacements were priced at around US$25. I tried out the Pioneer and other mid-end headphones but none would fit my 1st gen iPhone, requiring an expensive and inconvenient adapter. They also did not have the mic and clicker that’s so indispensable that came with the original.

Fortunately, I have found the OEM supplier, promptly ordered, and received my initial stock of iPhone Headsets for sale.

These headsets are replacements for the original headsets included with the iPhone 2G and 3G. They sound as good, if not better, than the originals, and have full clicker functionality… That means the clicker acts as a microphone, pause, forward, and backward (with iPhone OS 2.1).

The headsets will also work with the iPod Touch 2G, and will work with all iPods without the microphone functionality. Macintosh compatibility has also been established, which means that the headsets will work with Macs for use with iTunes, Skype, and other applications.

Order your own headsets now–as replacement or backup for your iPhone, iPod or Mac. The price is just US$14 for a set. Succeeding headsets are just $10 each. Shipping within the Philippines is $1 for postal mail. Shipping to the USA is $3 for registered mail. PayPal payments are accepted. (continue reading &aquo;)

Adwords to Earn Adsense Experiment Results

Author: macuser - Categories: Uncategorized - Tags: , ,

My theory was right. My experiment is a success.

As a recap, I realized that you can potentially earn a lot of money in domaining by advertising in adwords, and monetizing via ads (I used adsense in my experiment).

I selected relevant keywords and made ad placements in adwords. I chose $0.02 as my maximum (the amount I’m willing to pay to have my ad shown, but I only pay when it is clicked) and had a daily budget of $10. The higher the daily budget, the more frequent the ad will be displayed.

I then added ads to my free sms page and waited. After a day of experiments, here are the results:

AdSense - The amount I earned from advertising

AdSense - The amount I earned from advertising (the grey portion is for other sites and should not be included in the experiment's results)

AdWords - the amount I spent for advertising

AdWords - the amount I spent for advertising

The income earned is not that high, but it is there.

I have modified the Adwords maximum amount to $0.01. This may result in poorer placement positions, but as long as it gets shown and clicked, the potential for ad income is there, at a lower cost. (continue reading &aquo;)

My week with iPhone OS 2.1

Author: macuser - Categories: Uncategorized - Tags:

I’ve been using the iPhone 2.1 since it was released. Initially via the direct update, as detailed previously, and lost the jailbroken features. Then again when the PwageTool was updated to work with 2.1.

In my short experience of 2.1, here are some bugs (or changes) I’ve found:

- Audio mode for videos is gone. With iPhone OS 1.x, you can listen to video podcasts without the video displaying.

- Podcast syncing bug. When syncing a podcast that has not been listened (or viewed) in full previously, the same podcast will sync at the same unfinished status… even after you’ve finished listening to it on the iPhone.

- SMS 2nd beep bug. After viewing an SMS, the second notification beep still sounds.

- SMS beeps still don’t work when headphones are inserted.

Have you discovered bugs yourselves?
